my hershey cocoa box camera

Pinhole Photography is the most basic form of the photographic arts. All one needs is a light tight box with a small hole (a pinhole). Light rays enter the box through the pinhole and strike the light sensitive material inside (film or photographic paper). The pinhole camera is "lensless". There is no viewfinder through which one composes the image. There is nothing with which to focus the camera. If the pinhole is measured precisely in reference to the box's focal length, the image should be sharp throughout the frame. This can lead to some distortion in the perspective of the image. Other factors contributing to the unique outcome of pinhole images are the shape of the box used, the length of time that the film is exposed and whether or not the wind is blowing! Since the pinhole must be quite small, exposure times are a great deal longer than when using conventional photographic equipment.
